The Ambassador® Clear Snare Side model, along with the Weatherking® heads, was Remo's first ever resonant head in the mid-1950s. In order to be able to offer more stability to the musicians of the emerging Rock 'n' Roll scene, Remo decided to expand the Ambassador® series with stronger heads. In the beginning, two skins of 10mil diameter were combined for this purpose. When the DuPont company was finally able to produce Mylar® in 10mil total thickness for the first time, this was the birth of the Ambassador® line, which today offers the most extensive selection of models, both resonant and batter heads for all drum types, and continues to make music history.
