The Long Story
In 1968, the United States was in the midst of a tectonic cultural shift. At the center of this shift in the musical realm was Jimi Hendrix, a guitarist like the world had never seen before. On July 31, 1968, he played to a sold-out crowd in the Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport, Louisiana. The stage setting was sparse. There was no need for elaborate lights or sound equipment.
